When you think of facial care skincare, you might say: at 20, you have the skin God gave you; at 40, you have the skin you’ve created, and at 60, you have the skin you’ve earned!

These tips to learn facial care skincare are all you’ll ever need. There are five basic steps to taking care of your skin. It doesn’t matter what skin type you have or how old you are.
These are skincare tips that work for anyone. However, you may need to change your routine. If you use soap and water, stop. If you don’t moisturize, start. As we walk through these steps, you’ll see what I mean.
Step 1: Cleanse
You need to find a cleanser that is alcohol-free. A cleanser is going to go on your damp face with a circular motion, and you’ll remove it with water and a washcloth. This is something you’ll do twice a day, every day.
Why is it so important? Well, every night that you don’t remove your makeup, your skin ages seven days! Who wants that? But you don’t wear makeup.
Well, the junk flying around in the air is getting in your pores and causing aging. Dirt, smog, debris, and pollution are all factors that affect us all every day. That’s why your facial care skin regimen must include cleansing.
Always remove your eye makeup with an oil-free eye makeup remover. This will eliminate the tugging and pulling of the sensitive eye skin. It is also safe for contact lens wearers. Use a product with silicone instead of oil in it.
Step 2: Exfoliate
I know you recognize this word! “Aha!” you are saying. “I know exfoliation!” Do you, though? What pops into your mind first? Apricot or sea salt scrubs? Wrong!
These are far too abrasive for your sensitive facial skin. You are going to want to choose an exfoliator that has micro-beads. These are far less abrasive and will do a better job of exfoliating just the junk, and not your good skin.
This, again, is something you will do twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening.
Step 3: Freshen
Freshen? What’s that? Is it a toner? Well, in a way, yes. A toner is usually high in alcohol, and we want to avoid that at all costs. However, it may say “toner” or “masque” on the packaging.
It will tighten those pores you just cleaned, so they’re less likely to get airborne junk in them. Now, doing all 3 of these steps will easily take you ten minutes.
If you don’t want to invest that kind of time, I highly recommend using a 3-in-1 solution to cut your time down, because you’ll be doing this twice a day as well.
**Note: All three of these steps should use an upward motion (from your neck to your forehead) to apply and remove them. Why? Because this motion will more easily remove the dead skin cells and grime. I also recommend completing steps 1-3 in your morning shower.
Step 4: Moisturize
Moisturizers are going to cause the most problems. You need to avoid those with alcohol in the ingredients. You want to avoid moisturizers that make your face oily or greasy.
A moisturizer should moisturize, but not cause your skin extra problems. A good one will also control oil and shine and act as a mattifier. If you have excessively oily skin or acne, you will need a separate skin solution to control the oil. Try a spot solution acne treatment on each blemish before applying the moisturizer.
Moisturizer should be applied in a downward motion over your face and throat. Your pores lay like shingles on a roof, and you need to smooth them down to create a finished look. As always, you need to perform this care facial care skin routine twice a day, once when you get up and once when you go to bed.
Step 5: Protect
Finally, your care facial care skin routine must include protection, a “topcoat” to protect your freshly cleaned pores from the elements outside. What could protect your skin? Well, it is the next item you put on your face.
Sunscreen! Sunscreen should be applied in a downward motion, again to smooth the pores and the facial hair. I recommend SPF 15 or higher.
Or you may also choose to use a foundation (with sunscreen).
Your foundation should be non-comedogenic, so it won’t clog your pores. This you only need to do in the morning, before you head outside.
Also, some product brands may react with other brands. Keep an eye out for this and until you have a regimen that doesn’t irritate your skin.
